11 chapter USING PC CARDS A PC Card is a credit card-sized accessory designed to conform to the standard specifications of the Personal Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA). The computer supports both 32-bit (CardBus) and 16-bit PC Cards. Installing CardWare (Windows NT 4.0) Unicore Software CardWare provided by Compaq is available on your hard drive but is not installed. If you install CardWare provided by Compaq- s The computer provides plug and play support for all PC Cards. s All information in the remainder of this chapter applies. If you do not install CardWare provided by Compaq- s The computer will not provide plug and play support for any PC Cards. s You can use card services, socket services, or enablers provided with third party PC Cards. s Some information in the remainder of this chapter may not apply.
