Using Quick Controls When a power-on password is set, the following Quick Controls are available: s QuickLock-Disables the keyboard and pointing device. (In Compaq Computer Security this option is called Enable QuickLock of the Keyboard.) s QuickLock on Suspend-Sets the computer to initiate QuickLock whenever the computer enters Suspend (Standby). (In Compaq Computer Security this option is called QuickLock on Standby.) s Lock keyboard and mouse at power-on-Sets the computer to initiate QuickLock each time the computer is turned on or restarted. (In Compaq Computer Security this option is called Enable QuickLock at System Startup.) s QuickBlank-Clears the screen whenever QuickLock initiates. (In Compaq Computer Security this option is called QuickBlank the Screen When Locked.) NOTE: Quick Controls cannot be used on an external keyboard connected through a USB connector. Setting Quick Controls Quick Controls s Can be set in Computer Setup in all operating systems. s Can be set in Compaq Computer Security only in Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT 4.0. s Cannot be set in Compaq Computer Security if a USB keyboard has ever been connected to the computer. Securing the Computer
Using Quick Controls
When a power-on password is set, the following Quick Controls
are available:
QuickLock
—Disables the keyboard and pointing device. (In
Compaq Computer Security this option is called Enable
QuickLock of the Keyboard.)
QuickLock on Suspend
—Sets the computer to initiate
QuickLock whenever the computer enters Suspend (Standby).
(In Compaq Computer Security this option is called
QuickLock on Standby.)
Lock keyboard and mouse at power-on
—Sets the
computer to initiate QuickLock each time the computer is
turned on or restarted. (In Compaq Computer Security this
option is called Enable QuickLock at System Startup.)
QuickBlank
—Clears the screen whenever QuickLock
initiates. (In Compaq Computer Security this option is called
QuickBlank the Screen When Locked.)
NOTE:
Quick Controls cannot be used on an external keyboard
connected through a USB connector.
