Bottom Components Bottom Components Component Description 1 Battery bay Holds the primary battery. 2 Modem slot cover Covers the modem compartment. 3 Modem agency approvals label (internal modem models only) Lists the countries in which the modem has been approved for use. You may need this information to use the modem while traveling. 4 MultiBay notch Helps you remove a drive or battery pack from the MultiBay. 5 MultiBay release latch Releases a removable drive or battery pack from the MultiBay. 6 Serial number label Identifies the computer; needed when you call Compaq customer support. 7 Fan Provides airflow to cool internal components. 8 Certificate of Authenticity label Contains your Product Key number, which you may need to set up, update, or troubleshoot your operating system.
