NOTICE: To avoid ESD, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by touching an unpainted metal surface on the computer. NOTICE: Read "Preparing to Work Inside the Computer" before performing the following procedure. 1. Remove the keyboard. 2. Remove the EMI shield. HINT: You can remove the microprocessor thermal-cooling assembly with the fan attached. 3. Disconnect the fan power cable from the system board. 4. NOTICE:

following procedure.
1.
Remove the
keyboard
.
2.
Remove the
EMI shield
.
HINT:
You can remove the microprocessor thermal-cooling assembly with the
fan attached.
3.
Disconnect the fan power cable from the system board.
4.
Loosen in consecutive order the four captive screws, labeled "1" through "4,"
that secure the microprocessor thermal-cooling assembly to the system board.
