Prerequisites NOTE: The fingerprint reader is available depending on the configuration ordered. 1 Remove the base cover. 2 Remove the battery (half-length) or the battery (full-length). 3 Remove the memory modules. 4 Follow the procedure from step 1 to step 4 in "Removing the hard drive". 5 Remove the solid-state drive (half-length) or the solid-state drive (full-length). 6 Remove the wireless card. 7 Remove the heat sink. 8 Remove the fans. 9 Remove the system-board assembly. Procedure 1 Peel the fingerprint-reader cable (optional) from the palm-rest assembly. 2 Peel the tape that secures the power-button module to the palm-rest assembly. 3 Remove the screw (M1.6x1.5) that secures the fingerprint-reader board (optional) to the palm-rest assembly. 4 Remove the two screws (M1.6x3) that secure the power-button module to the palm-rest assembly. 5 Lift the power-button module and fingerprint-reader board (optional) off the palm-rest assembly. 58 Removing the fingerprint reader daughter-board (optional)
