Identifying your System When you request technical assistance, be ready to provide the serial number of your computer, its ROM BIOS version number, its configuration (including the types of disk drives and options), and the names and version numbers of any software programs you are using. You can find the serial number on the underside of the computer. If you are able to use your computer, follow these steps to obtain information about your configuration, as well as the version number of your system BIOS and MS-DOS: 1. Turn on your computer or press Ctrl Alt Delete to restart it. 2. As the computer perform its power-on diagnostics, it displays the version number of your system BIOS as part of the copyright information.
