Section 8: Setting Up - UNIX UNIX Note: 3. Press Enter to choose LPD printing as your print method. The AXIS 1440 does not support PROS or FTP printing. 4. Enter an IP address or host name (for example, 171.16.115.149), then press Enter. 5. Press Enter to accept the default logical printer number. 6. Press Enter to accept the default printer name, or enter a printer name. The default printer name is made up of the IP address or host name, plus the suffix _pr (for example, 171.16.115.149_pr). 7. Press Enter to accept the default spool directory path, or enter the path (for example, /var/spool/lpd/_pr). 8. Press Enter to accept the default log file path, or enter the path (for example, /var/spool/lpd/171.16.115.149_pr/log) 9. Press Enter to accept the default path to the printcap file, (/etc/printcap) or enter the path. axinstall displays a printer setup summary and asks if you want to install this printer. 10. Press Enter. axinstall checks the setup to make sure there are no conflicts, then confirms installation of the printer. 11.
