Chapter 1 Installing Components on Your Computer 1 1 About Installing Components on Your Computer 1 1 Before configuring the print server and printing from the computer, you need to install the necessary components (such as TCP/IP, NetBEUI, etc.) and assign an IP address and subnet mask 1 for your computer, depending on the printing method you want to use. See the section in this chapter appropriate for your operating system. 1 Windows Me/98/95 1 For Windows Me/98/95, use the following procedure to install the necessary components. 1 Note: ❏ The Windows Me/98/95 CD-ROM may be required during the installation. 1 ❏ When using TCP/IP or IPP for printing, you need to set the IP 1 address, the subnet mask, and the default gateway of the computer. 1.
