www.gateway.com When you insert the DIMM(s), you must always start with DIMMA2 and DIMMB2 as a pair. If DIMMs are not installed in pairs, only DIMMs in A (A0, A1, and A2) are detected. For example, if five 1 GB DIMMs are installed in A2, A1, A0, B0, and B1, the system only detects 3 GB of memory. If you can only install one DIMM, install it in socket A2; however, Gateway does not recommend this type of installation. Do not install more than four dual rank DIMMs or the BIOS will generate a memory configuration error.
