The battery used in this device may present a fire or chemical burn hazard if mishandled. Do not disassemble, heat above 212°F (100°C), or incinerate. Dispose of used battery promptly. Keep away from children. Caution If your notebook is connected to an AC outlet, you can change the battery while the notebook is turned on. If your notebook is not plugged into an AC outlet, you must turn the notebook off while changing the battery or you will lose any unsaved data. To replace the battery: 1 If your notebook is on and is connected directly to AC power, go to Step 2. -OR- If your notebook is on and is not plugged into an AC outlet, save your work and turn off the notebook. 2 Close the LCD panel. 3 Turn your notebook over so the bottom is facing up. 4 Press in the small square button on the battery release latch, slide the latch in the direction shown, then slide the battery out of your notebook. . 5 Slide a recharged battery into your notebook until it snaps into place. 6 Slide the battery lock to the locked position. 7 Turn your notebook over. 8 Open the LCD panel and press the power button. 43

To replace the battery:

If your notebook is on and is connected
directly to AC power, go to
Step 2
.

If your notebook is on and is not plugged
into an AC outlet, save your work and turn
off the notebook.

Close the LCD panel.

Turn your notebook over so the bottom is
facing up.

Press in the small square button on the
battery release latch, slide the latch in the
direction shown, then slide the battery out
of your notebook.
5
Slide a recharged battery into your
notebook until it snaps into place.
6
Slide the battery lock to the locked
position.
7
Turn your notebook over.
8
Open the LCD panel and press the power
button.
