install the printer software printer software Printer software enables the computer to communicate with the printer. If you do not have access to a CD-ROM drive, download the printer software and other updates from the Internet at the following address: www.hp.com/support/c1p1700. The following Windows operating systems support the printer software: •=Windows 95 •=Windows 98 •=Windows Me •=Windows NT 4.0 •=Windows 2000 You must have administrator privileges to install a printer driver on a computer running the Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 2000 operating systems. Note It is recommended to install the printer software before connecting the printer to the computer. steps to install the printer software 1. Start Windows and ensure that no Windows applications are running. 2. Insert the starter CD into the CD-ROM drive. System Setup Wizard executes automatically. 3. Click Install Printer Driver on the starter CD menu. 4. Select the language of the printer software and click OK.
