SECTION SEVEN If Colors are Printed Wrong N OT E See Available Supplies and Accessories on page 77 for the part number of the HP Color Kit. If you observe that the colors in your documents are printed incorrectly on the pages, first be sure that you have set your software for color printing. If you still experience problems with the printing of colors, find the symptom in the following table that most closely matches your problem, then perform the possible solution(s). For each listed symptom, more than one solution is usually possible. The first solution given is the most probable corrective action for the symptom. However, if that solution does not solve the problem, perform the other solutions in the order they appear until the problem is solved. Symptom Missing colors. Solution Color printing is not selected in your software. Check your software application's manual for how to select color. The black print cartridge is installed in the printer. Remove the black print cartridge and install the color print cartridge. Store the black print cartridge in the print cartridge storage container. Grayscale printing is selected in the Print dialog box. Turn off the Print in Grayscale setting. The print cartridge is drying out or clogging. Print a self-test as described on page 57. If this does not clear the ink nozzles, clean the print cartridge as described on page 58. The color print cartridge has run out of one or more inks. Install a new color print cartridge. Your computer does not support color printing. Print from a colorcapable computer. 84
