Before removing the fan, follow these steps: 1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 37). 2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 37). 3. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see Battery on page 44). Remove the fan assembly: 1. Remove display cable from the clips on the fan (1). 2. Remove the three Phillips 2.0 × 4.0 screws (2) that secure the fan to the computer. 3. Disconnect the fan cable from the system board (3). 4. Remove the fan from the computer (4). Reverse this procedure to install the fan assembly. Heat sink To remove the heat sink, use these procedures and illustrations.
