Heat sink assembly NOTE: The heat sink assembly spare part kit includes replacement thermal material. Table 6-2 Heat sink descriptions and part numbers Description Spare part number Heat sink L68813-001 Before removing the heat sink assembly, follow these steps: 1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 34). 2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 34). 3. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see Battery on page 46). Remove the heat sink assembly: 1. Discrete graphics models: Loosen the six captive screws on the heat sink following the sequence stamped on the heat sink (1), and then remove the heat sink from the system board (2). IMPORTANT: Take extreme care when removing the heat sink. The heatpipe is very fragile and can be easily damaged and bent during removal.
