Smart card reader cable (available in Cable Kit) Spare part number L62733-001 L62743-001 L64668-001 (Cable Kit) Before removing the card reader, follow these steps: 1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 34). 2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 34). 3. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 46). Remove the smart card reader: NOTE: Before you remove the smart card reader, make sure nothing (memory card or plastic insert) is inserted in the reader. 1. Disconnect the system board cable from the connector on the smart card reader board (1). 2. Disconnect the touchpad cable from the ZIF connector on the smart card reader board (2). 3. Remove the three Phillips M2.0 × 2.0 screws (3) that secure the smart card reader to the computer. 4. Remove the smart card reader from the computer (4). Disconnect the system board cable from the connector on the smart card reader board

2.
Disconnect the touchpad cable from the ZIF connector on the smart card reader board
(2)

3.
Remove the three Phillips M2.0 × 2.0 screws

that secure the smart card reader to the computer.
4.
Remove the smart card reader from the computer

Reverse this procedure to install the smart card reader.
