Hood lock The hood lock is secured to the back of the computer. 1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 18). 2. Remove the access panel (Access panel on page 19). 3. Disconnect the cable from the system board connector labeled HLCK (1), and then remove the cable from the clip on the fan duct (2). 4. Remove the screw that secures the hood lock to the rear of the computer (3), and then remove the hood lock from the inside of the computer (4). To install the hood lock, reverse the removal procedure. 48 Chapter 4 Removal and replacement procedures

3.

, and then remove the cable

Remove the screw that secures the hood lock to the rear of the computer

, and then remove the hood
lock from the inside of the computer

.
To install the hood lock, reverse the removal procedure.
