Fan The fan is secured to the back of the computer. IMPORTANT: The rear fan is used only in models with a 95 W processor. 1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 18). 2. Remove the access panel (Access panel on page 19). 3. Remove the air duct (Air duct on page 52). 4. Remove the fan sink (Fan sink on page 55). 5. Disconnect the fan cable from the system board connector labeled CHFAN2 (1), and then loosen the four captive screws (2) that secure the fan sink to the system board tray. 6. Press the release button (2), and then rotate the fan downward and remove it from the computer (3). To install the fan, reverse the removal procedure. 58 Chapter 4 Removal and replacement procedures
