Chapter 1 Setting Up the HP NetServer LT 6000r 3. If you have optional items to add to the NetServer, open the access panels and bezel (refer to Chapter 3, Opening and Closing the HP NetServer. If not, skip this step, and proceed to Step 8. (If you are installing accessory boards before the NetServer is mounted in the rack, remove the handles that are mounted on the accessory board access panel.) 4. If you have items, such as a processor and DIMMs, to install. HP recommends that you remove the system board assembly from the server, and install the items at this time. Refer to Chapter 5, Installing Additional Memory, and Chapter 7, Installing Additional Processors. 5. Install PCI hot-plug and non-hot-plug accessory boards in the NetServer. Refer to Chapter 6, Installing Additional Boards. 6. Reconnect internal cables as needed. 7. Install the server in the rack. Refer to Chapter 8, Mounting the HP NetServer in an HP Rack System/E or Rack System/U or Chapter 13, Alternative Rack Mounting. 8. If necessary, re-install the system board assembly in the rack-mounted chassis. 9. If necessary, close the system board access panel. Refer to Chapter 3, Opening and Closing the HP NetServer. 10. Install hot-swap mass storage devices into the LT 6000r mass storage device cage. Refer to Chapter 4, Installing Mass Storage Devices. 11. Close the bezel. 12. Install the Cable Management Arm to the rear of the rack-mounted LT 6000r. Refer to Chapter 8, Mounting the HP NetServer in an HP Rack System/E or Rack System/U, and Chapter 13, Alternative Rack Mounting. 13. Connect the monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Refer to Chapter 9, Connecting the Monitor, Keyboard, and Mouse. 14. Connect external cables. 15. Power on the LT 6000r. Refer to Chapter 2, Controls, Indicators, and Ports. 16. Go to the next section, "Configuring the HP NetServer." 3
