● Immediately discontinue use of the battery if, while using, charging, or storing the battery, the battery emits an unusual smell, feels excessively hot (note that it is normal for the battery to feel warm), changes color or shape, or appears abnormal in any other way. ● In the event the battery leaks and the fluid gets into one's eye, do not rub the eye. Rinse well with water and immediately seek medical care. If left untreated, the battery fluid could cause damage to the eye. Power indicators The power indicators are most accurate after a few minutes of use. The following table explains the meaning of these indicators. Icon Description Battery has more than 70 percent energy remaining. Battery has 30 to 70 percent energy remaining. Battery has 10 to 30 percent energy remaining. Blinking Battery level is low. Live View is disabled but you can still review images in Playback and use the menus. Battery is depleted. Camera will power down. Camera is operating on AC power. Animated Camera is operating on AC power and is charging the battery. battery filling up Camera has successfully completed battery charging and is operating on AC power. Note If the camera is without a battery for a prolonged period, the clock may be reset and you may be prompted to update it the next time you power on the camera.
