Hard drives Follow these steps to remove a 2.5-inch hard drive: 1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 30). 2. Remove the access panel (see Access panel on page 31). 3. Disconnect the power cable (1) from the 2.5-inch hard drive. 4. Disconnect the data cable (2) from the 2.5-inch hard drive. 5. Release the retention clip (1) that secures the 2.5-inch hard drive to the drive cage. 6. Lift the left side of the 2.5-inch hard drive (2) until it releases from the slots in the drive cage. Follow these steps to remove a 2.5-inch hard drive:

2.
Remove the access panel (see

3.
Disconnect the power cable
(1)
from the 2.5-inch hard drive.
4.
Disconnect the data cable
(2)
from the 2.5-inch hard drive.
5.
Release the retention clip

that secures the 2.5-inch hard drive to the drive cage.
6.
Lift the left side of the 2.5-inch hard drive

until it releases from the slots in the drive cage.
