chapter 4 disassembly/end of life This HP product (the HP Scanjet 2400, 3670, 3690, or 3970 scanner) is designed for ease of disassembly and to provide end-of-life disposal options by use of common fasteners and snap-fitting parts. product restricted material This HP product contains the following materials that might require special handling at end-of-life: • mercury in the fluorescent lamp in the scanner and transparent materials adapter (< 5 mg) • lead in solder For recycling information, contact www.hp.com/go/recycle or contact your local authorities or the Electronic Industries Alliance at www.eiae.org. recycling materials HP offers a variety of product end-of-life return programs in a number of geographic areas. To determine if a program is available in your area, please contact your nearest HP sales office. Products returned to HP are reused, recycled, or disposed of in a responsible manner. Each month, HP reuses or recycles more than 1.6 million kg (3.5 million pounds) of material at our product recovery centers in Grenoble, France; Boeblingen, Germany; and Roseville, California, USA.
