Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 22). 5. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see Battery on page 23). CAUTION: To prevent damage to internal components, be sure to disconnect the battery cable from the system board before removing the USB/audio/power board. You do not need to remove the battery to remove the board. Remove the USB/audio/power connector board: 1. Lift the Mylar tape up from the board (1). 2. Disconnect the cable from the connector on the bottom of the board (2). 3. Remove the Phillips PM2.0×3.0 screw (3) that secures the board to the computer. 36 Chapter 5 Removal and replacement procedures

Before removing the USB/audio/power connector board, follow these steps:
1.

the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is

3.

Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see

).
CAUTION:
To prevent damage to internal components, be sure to disconnect the battery cable from
the system board before removing the USB/audio/power board. You do not need to remove the battery
to remove the board.
Remove the USB/audio/power connector board:
1.
