Adding the StoreOnce device to an AD Domain In order to join a domain: 1. Connect to the StoreOnce Web Management Interface and navigate to the NAS -> CIFS Server page 2. Select the Edit button and choose AD from the drop-down menu. NOTE: An entry for the StoreOnce appliance must be created in the DNS server such that the appliance can be resolved using its domain qualified appliance name. 3. Provide the name of the domain that you wish to join, for example "mydomain.local" 4. Select Update. If the domain controller is found, a popup box will request credentials of a user with permission to join the domain. (Note that joining or leaving the domain will result in failure of any backup or restore operations that are currently running.) 5. Provide the credentials (\< User Name> and ) of the Domain Administrator or a delegated user with Domain Administrative rights and select Register. 6. After a short delay (the time is dependent on the topology and size of the AD Domain) the computer will become a member of the domain and a Success dialog is displayed. 32 NAS functions

Adding the StoreOnce device to an AD Domain
In order to join a domain:
1.
Connect to the StoreOnce Web Management Interface and navigate to the
NAS -> CIFS Server
page
2.
Select the
Edit
button and choose

from the drop-down menu.
NOTE:
An entry for the StoreOnce appliance must be created in the DNS server such that

Provide the name of the domain that you wish to join, for example “mydomain.local”

Update

Provide the credentials (<Domain Name>\< User Name> and <Password>) of the Domain
Administrator or a delegated user with Domain Administrative rights and select
Register
.
6.
After a short delay (the time is dependent on the topology and size of the AD Domain) the
computer will become a member of the domain and a Success dialog is displayed.
