VCR FUNCTION SETTING Press "4" to change INITIAL SETUP 1 ANTENNA/CABLE 2 AUTO CHANNEL SETTING 3 ADD OR ERASE CHANNEL 4 VCR CODING 5 MOVIE RETURN 6 AUDIO PLAYBACK 7 STEREO/MONO 8 SECOND AUDIO *TO END PRESS GUIDE VCR 1: Normally select this "VCR1". VCR 2: Select "VCR2" when you are using another Hitachi VCR and operate the two VCRs using the remote control unit provided with this VCR. Note: After you have selected "VCR2", press the VCR2 button and then perform the following operations; otherwise, the VCR does not accept commands. To return to "VCR1" after you have selected "VCR2", press the VCR2 button first. MOVIE RETURN Press "5" to change INITIAL SETUP 1 ANTENNA/CABLE 2 AUTO CHANNEL SETTING 3 ADD OR ERASE CHANNEL 4 VCR CODING 5 MOVIE RETURN 6 AUDIO PLAYBACK 7 STEREO/MONO 8 SECOND AUDIO *TO END PRESS GUIDE ON: When a cassette (with erase prevention tab removed) is loaded, playback starts automatically. When the tape reaches the end, it will stop automatically and will rewind to its start. Then the cassette will be ejected and the VCR's power will be switched off automatically. Note: This function also rewinds the tape automatically when it detects a non-video recorded section lasting about 30 seconds or more. OFF: This function does not operate. Note: Select "OFF" when playing back a tape with only audio recorded on it. 34

VCR 1: Normally select this "VCR1".

ON: When a cassette (with erase prevention tab removed) is loaded, playback starts automatically. When
the tape reaches the end, it will stop automatically and will rewind to its start. Then the cassette will be
ejected and the VCR's power will be switched off automatically.
Note:
This function also rewinds the tape automatically when it detects a non-video recorded section lasting
about 30 seconds or more.
OFF: This function does not operate.
