The linear sound is played back with a non-Hi-Fi tape. Normally, select "Hi-Fi". • LINEAR: The linear sound is played even when Hi-Fi sound is recorded on the tape. • MIX: When different sounds are recorded on the Hi-Fi and linear tracks, select [MIX] to hear both sounds at the same time. STEREO/MONO SELECTION Press "7" to change INITIAL SETUP 1 ANTENNA/CABLE 2 AUTO CHANNEL SETTING 3 ADD OR ERASE CHANNEL 4 VCR CODING 5 MOVIE RETURN 6 AUDIO PLAYBACK 7 STEREO/MONO 8 SECOND AUDIO *TO END PRESS GUIDE Your VCR is capable of recording stereo sound from TV stations transmitting stereo in your area. All you have to do is to make sure the STEREO indicator is displayed in the VCR display as the VCR can receive stereo broadcasts. Normally this function can be left in the STEREO mode. Your VCR will then automatically record either stereo or monaural sound - whatever is broadcast. In some fringe viewing areas, however, the stereo signal may not be strong enough for quality reception. the signal may drift or become noisy.
