PROGRAM EASY EDIT PROGRAM EASY EDIT (cont.) pg. 52 4. After you have located the beginning of the program you want to copy, press the EDIT button on the remote control. The "START" is replaced with the current time counter reading, and the flashing cursor moves to the "END" position. SYNCHRO EDIT START 0:05:20 END 0:08:08 PRESS EDIT TO SET *TO END PRESS CLEAR 5. Locate the point where you want to stop copying the program by using the SHUTTLE ring or PLAY, REW, and F.FWD buttons, and then press the EDIT button on the remote control. [Operating Record VTR] 6. Press the REC button at the point where editing on the record VTR will start. • The record VTR enters automatically record pause mode. • Check once more to make sure that all preparations for recording on the record VTR are complete. [Operating Playback VTR (this VTR)] 7. Press the EDIT button on the remote control. The program menu will disappear from the screen, and the VCR will automatically search for the beginning of the program and start copying. Display during easy editing • The play VTR starts play 10 seconds in front of the programmed start point. "EXECUTE" flashes on and off for a few seconds before start and then it goes out. Cautions during program easy editing • When editing starts, the playback VCR starts playing at a point slightly before the start of the program. This is why something should always be recorded about 30 seconds before the start point. (No signals have to be input, all that is needed is to press the REC button.) • Editing may operate incorrectly if there is an unrecorded section between the start point and a point about 30 seconds in front of it, or if the recording speed switches. • Some VCR models for recording will stop if they are left in record pause mode for five minutes. Do not hold a VCR in record pause for five minutes. To correct the program Correct it by the following steps. 1. Press CLEAR button. 2. Correct programme contents. 76
