5. Press Scroll until ETHERNET is displayed, the press Enter. 6. Press Scroll until IP ADDRESS, then press Enter and the current IP address value is displayed. 7. Press Enter again then Scroll to choose an IP address octet to change, then press Enter. 8. Press Scroll to choose the desired value for he octet, then press Enter. The new value is shown with an asterisk. Press Return. 9. Repeat steps 6 through 8 until all IP address octets are set to the desired value. 10. Press Return until ETHERNET is on the first display line. 11. Press Scroll to choose other IP parameters to change, then follow the above steps for these as well. 12. When finished, press Return multiple times until NOT READY is displayed. 13. Perform a power cycle for the printer. This will set the operator panel values into the Ethernet Interface. Test the setting by performing a 'ping' command from an OS/2 command prompt as follows: ping ip_address where the ip_address is the IP address of the printer Ethernet Interface. If this does not work, repeat the steps to make sure the IP values on the operator panel are correct. If they are correct, contact your network administrator for possible network problems. Using ARP To configure the Ethernet Interface with its IP settings using a manual "arp" command: 1. Log on to a Windows station with TCP/IP loaded and located on the same subnet as the Ethernet Interface. 2. Find the ethernet address (MAC address) for the Ethernet Interface on the configuration printout. It must be entered as part of this procedure. 4-4 Windows Configuration

are correct. If they are correct, contact your network administrator for possible
network problems.
Using ARP
To configure the Ethernet Interface with its IP settings using a manual “
arp
command:
1.
Log on to a Windows station with TCP/IP loaded and located on the same
subnet as the Ethernet Interface.
2.
