Preliminary option installation information Become familiar with the safety and handling guidelines specified under "Safety information" on page 212. These guidelines will help you work safely while working with the server and options. Make sure that you have an adequate number of properly grounded electrical outlets for the server, monitor, and any other options you intend to install. Place the server in a location that is dry. Rain or spilled liquids might damage the server. Have a supply of 2 MB (1.44 MB formatted), 3.5-inch diskettes available. Back up all important data before you make changes to hard disk drives. Have a small, flat-blade screwdriver available. Attention To allow for air circulation, be sure to maintain the following minimum clearances around the server: 102 mm (4 in.) in the front 127 mm (5 in.) in the rear 51 mm (2 in.) on the left and right sides Before you begin: Be sure that the current server configuration is working properly. If you have not already done so, locate the keys to the cover lock. At the time of shipment, two keys are attached to the back of the server, over the keylock. Store the keys in a safe place. Caution When unlocked, the server door will not support the weight of the server.
