Symptom Server does not recognize the CD-ROM drive. CD-ROM drive in-use light stays on, or the system continues to bypass the CD-ROM drive. Diskette drive in-use light stays on, or the system bypasses the diskette drive. General monitor problems. Some IBM monitors have their own self-tests. If you suspect a problem with the monitor, refer to the information that comes with the monitor for adjusting and testing instructions. The screen is blank. Only the cursor appears. The monitor goes blank when some application programs start. FRU/Action 1. Verify that the CD-ROM drive is enabled in the Configuration/Setup Utility program. 2.
