5. Click on Connect to initiate a connection with the remote system. General options: You can use the General Options screen to enable, disable, or reset the alarm; or to set the polling options. When you select General Options from the Options pull-down menu, a screen similar to the following appears. General Options Alarm Options Disable Alarm Reset Alarm Polling Options Poll Adapter Every 5 Seconds Cancel OK Enabling, Disabling, or Resetting the Alarm: The alarm alerts you if any of the following conditions occur: A DDD hard disk drive has been detected A Predictive Failure Analysis (PFA) event has occurred A ServeRAID controller is not responding To enable or disable the alarm, click on the box for Disable Alarm on the General Options screen. Placing a check in the box disables the alarm; removing the check enables the alarm. To reset the alarm, click on the STOP icon or click on Reset Alarm on the General Options menu. Resetting the alarm turns off the alarm for the current failure. It does not disable the feature. Polling Options: You can use the General Options screen to define how often the ServeRAID controller will poll, or check the server for any changes that might have occurred in the server (such as a rebuild or a drive entering the defunct (DDD) state). You can set a time interval of from five to 60 seconds. The default time interval setting is five seconds.
