OTHER FUNCTIONS 7 ■ Automatic foghorn The automatic foghorn function repeatedly sounds a horn until the function is turned OFF. Four patterns are selectable for varying situations. A hailer speaker is used to sound the foghorn. To use this function, the hailer speaker must be connected to the transceiver. See page 50 for connection details. TYPE PATTERN 5s±1 One 5-second blasts every 120 UNDERWAY seconds. 120s 5s±1 Two 5-second blasts (separated STOP by 2 seconds) every 120 sec- onds. 2s 120s SAIL One 5-second blast followed 5s±1 1s by two 1-second blasts (each separated by 2 seconds) every 120 seconds. 2s 120s TOW One 5-second blast followed 5s±1 1s by three 1-second blasts (each separated by 2-seconds) every 120 seconds. 2s 120s USAGE Motor vessel underway and making way. 7 Motor vessel underway but stopped (not making way). Sailing vessel underway, fishing vessel (underway or anchored), vessel not under command, a vessel restricted in her ability to maneuver (underway or at anchor), or a vessel towing or pushing another ahead.
