SETUP MENU Item SHUTTER Function, Operation Variation Range Initial Setting The SHUTTER button on the right side section is used to select STEP for fixed shutter speed or V.SCAN variable scanning rate for shooting computer monitor screens. STEP Enables setting of different fixed shutter speeds. [1/100, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000, 1/2000] : U-ver. [1/120, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000, 1/2000] : E-ver. VARIABLE ....... Selected when shooting computer monitor screens, etc. [Variable range: 60.1 to 2084.6 Hz, 60.3 to 2084.6 Hz (V. MAX mode)] : U-ver. [Variable range: 50.1 to 2067.8 Hz, 50.3 to 2067.8 Hz (V. MAX mode)] : E-ver. STEP VARIABLE STEP FAW Selects the W.BAL switch (@ on page 13) position to which the FAW (FullTime Auto White Balance Adjustment) function is to be assigned. NONE FAW function is not used. A FAW is assigned to the A position. B FAW is assigned to the B position. PRESET ......... FAW is assigned to the PRESET position. NONE A B PRESET NONE GAIN L GAIN M GAIN H Selects the gain value in each position of the GAIN switch (9 on page 13). -3dB 0dB 6dB 9dB 12dB 18dB ALC L: 0dB M: 9dB H: 18dB SMOOTH TRANS Smoothens the transition when the GAIN switch (9 on page 13), or WHT.BAL switch (@) is switched over and achieves gradual change in place of sudden change. However, the smooth transition function does not function when switching the GAIN switch set in ALC, FAS button and the LOLUX button. ON Activates the smooth transition function. OFF Deactivates the smooth transition function. ON OFF OFF PAGE BACK The CAMERA MENU returns when the SHUTTER dial is pressed with - - the cursor at this position. 73 12. SETUP MENU 12-6 PROCESS Screen Item MASTER BLACK Function, Operation Variation Range Initial Setting Adjusts the pedestal level (master black), which is the reference of black. • To increase the pedestal level ...... Increase the number. (UP) • To decrease the pedestal level .... Decrease the number. (DOWN) MAX (100) 99 201 gradations to NORMAL (0) to -99 MIN (-100) NORMAL DETAIL Adjusts the detail enhancement level. • To sharpen details Increase the number. (UP) • To soften details Decrease the number. (DOWN) MAX (9) 8 16 gradations to NORMAL (0) to -5 MIN (-6) NORMAL DTL. V/H BAL Sets the direction, horizontal (H) or vertical (V), in which stronger detail enhancement is applied. To strengthen the H enhancement ... .. Increase the number (UP). To strengthen the V enhancement ... .. Decrease the number (DOWN). Note: While the LOLUX function is operating, the setting value is fixed at NORMAL and "FIX" is displayed. H-MAX (4) 39 gradations to NORMAL (0) to -3 H-MIN (-4) NORMAL DTL. FREQUENCY Varies the detail enhancement level by changing the detail enhancement frequency. Set in accordance with the subject HIGH Applies strong detail enhancement. Used to shoot subjects with fine patterns. MIDDLE ........ Applies medium detail enhancement. LOW Applies weak detail enhancement. Note: Used to shoot subjects with large patterns. While the LOLUX function is operating, the setting value is fixed at MIDDLE and "FIX" is displayed. HIGH MIDDLE LOW MIDDLE SKIN DTL DETECT Sets the Skin Detail function to ON or OFF. ON Skin Detail function activated. OFF Skin Detail function not activated. See "Using the Skin Detail Function" on page 84. V. RESOLUTION Increases the vertical resolution. • NORMAL .... Vertical resolution 380 lines. • V.MAX ......... Vertical resolution 450 lines Note: The sensitivity is degraded and the bright sections may be colored depending on the subject. ON OFF NORMAL V.MAX ADVANCED PROCESS PAGE BACK ADVANCED PROCESS Displays the ADVANCED PROCESS Screen. See "ADVANCED PROCESS Screen" on page 75.
