50 Speaker setting DVR-505/DVR-7000 (EN) Positioning the speakers To achieve the optimum effects obtainable with this SURROUND SOUND system, it is important to position the speakers properly. Refer to the following illustration to find the best location in your room. Preparation 1 Play a disc marked "Dolby Digital". SELECT ∞ Center speaker L C SW LS R RS 2 Stop the playback. AUTO/MONO Front speaker Sub woofer Front speaker Surround speaker Surround speaker Operations T. For this unit, the speaker levels have been set in advance so that the best volume balance is obtained with standard use. Initial set values for the speaker level Left Front channel (Lch)(L) : 0dB Center channel (Cch)(C) : 0dB Right Front channel (Rch)(R) : 0dB Right Surround channel (RSch)(RS) :+6dB Left Surround channel (LSch)(LS) :+6dB Subwoofer(SW) : 0dB Reset as follows to match your listening environment. Speaker level setting 1 Press SETUP key for more than 2 seconds The test tone is played back from the Left Front speaker. Adjust the VOLUME CONTROL so that it is slightly loud and fix it there. SOUND "L" Blinks. SETUP 2 Press the TRIM (5/∞) keys to control the speaker level. TRIM U LTI C O N ÷ After all speakers have been adjusted, operate the Delay time setting (Q). ÷ If you want to quit at this time, press the ENTER key. M The speakers will be switched as follows in intervals of about 2 seconds. L → C → R → RS → LS → SW Adjust the volume with the TRIM (5/∞) keys while the indicator is flashing so that the volume from all speakers except the subwoofer (SW) appears the same. Level adjustment is possible in the range from -10 dB to +10 dB. Note As the subwoofer (SW) has a special playback band, normal adjustment is not possible with the test tone. Please adjust the subwoofer while listening to actual music. (W)
