Reminder: To access the phone's main menu, press the left (Menu) softkey button from standby mode. Menu items may be selected by highlighting them using the navigation key and pressing OK , or simply by pressing the number corresponding to the menu item on your keypad. Sound Settings Ringer Types Using different ringer types helps you identify incoming calls and messages. You can assign ringer types to individual phone book entries (page 69), types of calls (this page), types of messages (page 31), and individual message folders (page 106). ᮣ Preprogrammed Ringers include a variety of standard ringer types and familiar music. ᮣ Vibrating Ringer alerts you to calls or messages without disturbing others near you. ᮣ Downloaded Ringers can be downloaded directly to your phone. (See "Downloading Ringers, Screen Savers and Games" on page 112 and "Ringers" on page 114.) Selecting Ringer Types for Voice Calls Your PCS Phone provides a variety of ringer options which allow you to customize your ring and volume settings. To select a ringer type for voice calls so you recognize when a certain type of call is coming in by the ringer: 1. From the main menu, select Settings ( 8 ). 2. Select Sounds ( 1 ). 3. Select Ringers ( 1 ). 4. Select Voice Calls ( 1 ). 5. Select Caller ID ( 1 ), No Caller ID ( 2 ) or Roaming ( 3 ). 6. Select a ringer menu by pressing the right softkey button (Actions) and choosing Default ( 1 ) for preprogrammed ringers or Download ( 2 ) for downloaded ringers.
