Below are the security features supported in Modbus IAP. SNMP We can enable or disable SNMP. By default it is enabled. Disable SNMP (N) ? __ SNMP community The SNMP Community Name is a required field for NMS to read or write to a device. Enter a string of 1 to 13 characters. SNMP Community Name (public): __ The default entry is public. The current value is displayed in parentheses. Telnet Setup This setting defaults to the N (No) option. The Y (Yes) option disables access to Setup Mode by Telnet (port 9999). It only allows access locally using the web pages and the serial port of the unit. Disable Telnet Setup (N) ? __ Note: If you choose to disable this option, keep in mind that disabling Telnet Setup will prevent users from accessing the setup menu from the network. TFTP Download This setting defaults to the N (No) option. The Y (Yes) option disables the use of TFTP to perform network firmware upgrades. With this option, you can download firmware upgrades over the serial port using DeviceInstaller's Recover Firmware procedure. Disable TFTP Firmware Update (N) ? __ Port 77FEh Port 77FE is a setting that allows DeviceInstaller custom program to locate and configure the unit remotely. You may wish to disable this capability for security purposes.
