Descriptions of the diagnostic tools follow. Power-On Self-Test (POST) Each time you turn on your computer, it performs a series of tests that check the operation of the base computer. This series of tests is called the power-on self-test (POST). Note If your computer starts but does not boot when you press the power switch, do the following: Make sure all cables are securely connected to the correct locations. Check to see if the voltage-selection switch is set to the correct position for your country. For additional information, see Setting Up Your Personal Computer. Power-On Self-Test (POST)
Each time you turn on your computer, it performs a series of tests that check the
operation of the base computer.
This series of tests is called the
power-on self-test

.
Note
If your computer starts but does not boot when you press the power switch, do
the following:
