POST Message 601 602 604 Description A failure occurred during testing of the diskette drive and diskette-drive controller. This error can be caused by a loose or incorrectly connected cable, a failing drive, or a failing system board. Note: The computer can be used, but one or more diskette drives might not work. Action: Verify that all diskette drive cables are properly installed and securely connected. Running the diagnostic programs might isolate the diskette drive that failed, but you must have your computer serviced. (See "Diagnostic Programs" on page 95 for information about diagnostic programs provided with your computer.) The computer is not able to start the diskette in the drive. The diskette might be damaged or formatted incorrectly. Action: Try another startable diskette that is formatted correctly and is in good condition. (For information and instructions on formatting diskettes, refer to Understanding Your Personal Computer and your operating-system documentation.)
