The first time that you log in, no password is required. However, you then must specify a local device password to use each subsequent time that you log in. The Overview page displays. 4. Select Configure > Security. The Security page displays. 5. Select the ports from which you want to remove port authentication. To select all ports, select the Select All Ports check box. 6. Click the Remove Port Authentication button. 7. Click the Apply button. Your settings are saved. 8. A RADIUS server maintains a user database, which can contain per-user or per-port authentication information. The switch passes information to the configured RADIUS server, which can authenticate a user name and password or port and password before authorizing use of the network. Configure the basic settings for a RADIUS server After you enable 802.1X access authentication globally (see Manage 802.1X authentication on page 64), you can configure one or more RADIUS servers. The main UI lets you manage extensive RADIUS settings. For more information, see the main user manual, which you can download by visiting netgear.com/support/download. To configure the basic settings for a RADIUS server: 1. Launch a web browser. 2. In the address field of your web browser, enter the IP address of the switch. The login page displays.
