Shooting Suited for the Scenes Shooting in Scene Mode Features b Portrait Q Use this mode for taking portraits in which the main subject stands out clearly. Portrait subjects exhibit smooth, natural- looking skin tones. • The camera automatically detects and focuses on a face looking toward the camera (see "Shooting with Face Priority" (A123) for more information). • If the camera detects multiple faces, the camera focuses on the face closest to the camera. • If no face is recognized, the camera will focus on the subject in the center of the frame. • The Did someone blink? screen may be displayed when the Blink warning option (A149) in the setup menu is set to On (default setting). Press the k button or the shutter-release button to return to the shooting screen. See "Operating the Did someone blink? Screen" (A150) for more information. • Digital zoom is not available. X V* n Off* p A o 0.0* * Other settings can be selected. c Landscape Q Use this mode for vivid landscapes and cityscapes. • Camera focuses at infinity. When the shutter-release button is pressed halfway, the focus area or focus indicator (A8) always lights green; however, focus may not be set for nearby subjects, while the camera focuses at infinity. • AF-assist illuminator does not light regardless of the AF assist (A145) setting.
