ISO sensitivity TIPS To save the locked meter reading after taking a picture (AE memory) → After setting the AE lock in Step 1, or after pressing the shutter button halfway in Step 2, press the [ button for more than 1 second. C is displayed. The exposure is saved while C is displayed. Press the [ button again to cancel the AE memory. When the AE lock was canceled even though it was engaged → Do not operate any of the buttons or the mode dial after performing AE lock. Doing so will cancel AE lock. Note • AE lock is not available when multi-metering is enabled. Set the camera to [ESP], [SPOT] or [4]. g"Metering" (P. 69) 4 • AE lock is not available when the dual control panel is displayed. g"Dual control panel" (P. 133) ISO sensitivity The higher the ISO, the better the camera's light sensitivity and ability to shoot in low light conditions. However, high sensitivity introduces noise into the resulting picture, which may give it a grainy appearance. AUTO 80/100/200/400 Mode dial Sensitivity is automatically adjusted according to the light conditions of the subject. With a low ISO setting, you can shoot clear, sharp images in daylight.
