Reducing camera shake (the image stabilizer) You can reduce the amount of camera shake that can occur when shooting in low light situations or shooting with high magnification. 1 Display the live control (P. 20) and select j the image stabilizer item using FG. AUTO 1 Select the [IMAGE STABILIZER] item AUTO in the live control (P. 20) and press the P 50 mm INFO button. 2 Use HI to choose a focus distance and press Q. • Choose a focal length between 8 mm and 1000 mm. • Choose the value that most closely matches to the one that is printed on the lens. # Caution • The image stabilizer cannot correct excessive camera shake or camera shake that occurs when the shutter speed is set to the slowest speed. In these cases, it is recommended that you use a tripod. • When using a tripod, set [IMAGE STABILIZER] to [OFF]. • When using a lens with an image stabilization function, turn off the image stabilizer function of either the lens or the camera. • You may notice an operating sound or vibration when the image stabilizer is activated. • The image stabilizer will not activate at shutter speeds of over 2 seconds. • If the internal temperature of the camera exceeds the specified temperature, the image stabilizer is deactivated and the image stabilizer icon lights red on the monitor.
