Troubleshooting (Advanced) 123 Cannot boot from internal CD/DVD drive z Check to make sure that the bootable disc is set properly. z Start up the Setup Utility, and confirm the following settings. • [Optical Drive] is set to [Enabled] in the [Advanced] menu. (Î page 104) • [Optical Drive Power] is set to [On] in the [Main] menu. (Î page 103) • [CD/DVD Drive] is the first device shown in [Boot priority order] in the [Boot] menu. (Î page 105) z When an external CD/DVD drive is connected, you cannot boot from the internal CD/DVD drive. Cannot play back TV programs recorded on a commercial DVD recorder z In order to play media other than DVD-RAM, they must be finalized using the DVD recorder. z Check whether the DVD is supported in this computer. (Î page 54) The CD/DVD drive indicator does not light/blink z Check that the disc is inserted correctly. z The drive power may be turned off. The drive power can be turned on with the following methods. • Slide the drive power/open switch and open the disc cover. • Click on the notification area, and confirm [On] in [Manual switching] of [The optical disc drive's power]. z In the Setup Utility, is [Optical Drive Power] set to [Off]? (Î page 103) If this is set to off, unless Windows is running, it is not possible to turn on the drive.

Cannot boot from internal CD/DVD drive
Check to make sure that the bootable disc is set properly.
Start up the Setup Utility, and confirm the following settings.
