Troubleshooting (Advanced) 124 Disc playback and writing is not possible z Make sure the inserted disc is a compatible media type. For more about compatible media types, see "Disc Information" (Î page 54). z You may need to clean the disc. • Cleaning the disc (Î page 50) z Check whether the disc is distorted, damaged, or dirty. z When inserting a disc, follow the procedure below. Make sure the disc is inserted securely. A Slide the drive power/open switch, and open the disc cover. B Slide the disc into the drive under the keyboard with the label side up. C Press firmly on the center of the disc until you hear it click into place. When a disc is inserted, it is not played automatically z Remove the disc and reinsert it. • If an AutoPlay CD does not start after the computer resumes from the sleep or hibernation, remove the disc from the drive, then reinsert the disc again after a 15 second wait. z Follow the procedure below. A Click (Start) - [Control Panel] - [Play CDs or other media automatically]. B Click right of the item you want to automatically play and choose the action to play. C Click [Save]. If the problem persists, refer to the disc's operating instructions or other sources to play the disc. If the CD/DVD drive vibrates excessively or is noisy z Is the disc bent or labeled? z Check to see if the disc is inserted correctly, and is in good condition. z When writing to CD-R/RW using Roxio Creator LJB, you can minimize vibration while writing by using the writing speed at [8x] or less.

Disc playback and writing is not possible
Make sure the inserted disc is a compatible media type. For more about compatible media types, see “Disc Information”

You may need to clean the disc.

Check whether the disc is distorted, damaged, or dirty.
When inserting a disc, follow the procedure below. Make sure the disc is inserted securely.
A
Slide the drive power/open switch, and open the disc cover.
B
Slide the disc into the drive under the keyboard with the label side up.
C
Press firmly on the center of the disc until you hear it click into place.

When a disc is inserted, it is not played automatically
