Manual Exposure Set both shutter speed and aperture manually. Effect of Aperture and Shutter Speed There are many correct combinations of shutter speed and aperture for a particular subject. Different combinations produce different effects on a picture. Slower shutter speed Faster shutter speed Smaller aperture value Higher aperture value The shutter remains open for a longer time. If the subject is moving, the image will be blurred while the shutter is open, thus enhancing the effect of motion. The shutter remains open for a shorter time. It allows freezing the action of a moving subject. Decreases the amount of light which enters through the lens. Increases the amount of light which enters through the lens. 63
