Adjustment 11 .04.08 Hook-to-needle clearance, needle rise, needle height and needle guard (On Model 1246 make these adjustments on both sewing hooks.) Requirement With the stitch length set at ,,3' and bar on model ,,B' and 2.0mm after the needle rise at (1.8mm BDC of the needle bar on after BDC of the needle model C), the following must be true: 1. The distance to the needle must be 0.05 - 0.1 mm and the hook point must be pointing 2. to the middle of the needle. The top edge of the eye of the needle must be 0.8 - 1 mm below the hook point. 3. The needle guard must lightly touch the needle. 4 1 'FAFF • Set stitch length ,,3' and loosen screws 1 and 2 (also loosen screws 3 on machines with automatic thread trimmer -900/561. • Move hook bearing 4 in accordance with requirement 1. • Tighten screws 1. • Bring the needle to its BDC and slide the 1.8 or 2 mm thick feeler gauge under the needle bar bearing, allow the adjustable clamp to come to rest on the feeler gauge and screw it tight. • Remove the feeler gauge and turn the handwheel in its direction of rotation until the 11 - 9
