Techno Tidbits & Problem-solving Troubleshooting Incorrect operations are often mistaken for trouble and malfunctions. If you think that there is something wrong with this component, check the points below. Sometimes the trouble may lie in another component. Investigate the other components and electrical appliances being used. If the trouble cannot be rectified even after exercising the checks listed below, ask your nearest PIONEER authorized service center or your dealer to carry out repair work. Problem Cause Remedy i.LINK Interface No sound is output. • An output signal is not produced from the i.LINK connector on the source player. • The selected component is not compatible with i.LINK Audio. • The SIGNAL SELECT is set to 2 RF, DIGITAL or ANALOG. i.LINK indicator box does not light up even when an i.LINKequipped component is selected. • A 2 RF, DIGITAL or ANALOG signal is selected. The program format indicators don't disappear when SACD playback stops. • The program format indicators remain lit until another format source is input. • Refer to the manual that came with the source player. • Refer to the manual that came with the source player. • Choose i.LINK or AUTO (p.51). • Select i.LINK or AUTO with the SIGNAL SELECT button (p.51). You can't select i.LINK when using the SIGNAL SELECT button. • i.LINK-equipped component(s) are not ready. • i.LINK INPUT setting is incorrect. • Turn on the component(s). • Select the correct i.LINK INPUT setting (p.95). Power The power does not turn on. • The power plug is disconnected. • The protection circuit may have been activated. • Connect the power plug to the wall outlet. • Disconnect the power plug from the outlet, and insert again. During loud playback the power suddenly switches off. • The protection circuit has been activated because the lowest actual impedance of the speakers (as opposed to the speakers' rated impedance) is dangerously low. • Turn down the volume. • When it's convenient go to ACOUSTIC CALIBRATION EQ (p.45-46) and lower the 63 Hz and 125 Hz equalizer levels using MANUAL setting. • Turning DIGITAL SAFETY on may allow you to turn up the volume a little more. (From the Standby mode, and while holding down the BASS/TREBLE button press the STANDBY/ON button. Each action switches SAFETY ON or OFF.) Choose i.LINK or AUTO (p.51).
Select i.LINK or AUTO with the SIGNAL
SELECT button (p.51).
Turn on the component(s).
Select the correct i.LINK INPUT setting
(p.95).
Connect the power plug to the wall

outlet, and insert again.
Turn down the volume.
When it’s convenient go to ACOUSTIC
