Troubleshooting Problem Cause Remedy Shake Reduction function is turned off. Turn on the Shake Reduction switch. Shake Reduction function is not set Properly. If a lens for which focal length information cannot be acquired is used, set the [Focal Length] on the [ OIS] menu. Shake Reduction does not work. Shutter speed is too low for Shake. Reduction function to be effective when panning or shooting night scenes, etc.. Turn off the Shake Reduction function and use a tripod. Optical image stabilization (OIS) may not work if shots are taken at a very short distance. Move away from the subject, or turn off the Shake Reduction function and use a tripod. * In rare cases, the camera may not operate correctly due to static electricity. This can be remedied by taking the batteries out and putting them back in again. When the mirror remains in the up position, take the batteries out and put them back in again. Then, turn the power on. The mirror will retract. If this procedure is successful and the camera operates correctly, no repairs will be required. * Refer to the software instructions for details on connecting the camera to a PC. 150
