Setting the Exposure Selecting the Metering Method Choose the part of the screen to use for measuring brightness and determining exposure. Multi-segment metering Segment the screen in 16 parts, meter each portion and determine the appropriate exposure. Centre-weighted metering Spot metering Measure the entire screen with an emphasis on the centre and determine the exposure. Measure only the centre of the screen and determine exposure. Exposure Compensation This allows you to deliberately over expose (brighten) or under expose (darken) your picture. You can adjust the EV Compensation from -3 to +3 (EV) in increments of 1/2 EV or 1/3 EV. For information about under or over exposed samples, see page 90, "Changing the Exposure and Shooting (Auto Bracket)." 1.
