CHANNEL MEMORY PROGRAMMING (Preset) You can program the tuner to scan only the channels you receive in your area. See page 34 for channel designations. • Programmed channels are erased when you disconnect the power cord or if a power failure occurs. • In TV mode, the indicator will not display TV. NOTE: WHEN YOU FIRST PLUG IN THE VCR POWER CORD AND THEN PRESS POWER BUTTON, THE VCR WILL INITIALLY BE IN THE PRESET MODE . IF YOU WANT TO PRESET AGAIN, SEE "To preset channel memory again" BELOW. 1 5 Plug the VCR power cord into a standard AC outlet. The display flashes --:-- Li I Press CHANNEL A (or V) button once. The tuner scans and memorizes all the active channels in your area. After scanning, the tuner stops on the lowest memorized channel. The VCR distinguishes between standard TV channels and CATV. If CATV can be tuned, "CATV" appears on the display. (TV mode: from CH2/ CATV mode: from CH 1) 2 Turn on the VCR. POWER, r TIMER REC I S. P- 2 CHANNEL I SP P- L 6 The display returns to original mode . 3 Turn on the TV and set the TV channel to the same U video output channel located on the back of the VCR. SP (CH 3 or 4) CA - 2 • If you want to recall the selected channels, you can select the desired channel directly by CHANNEL A or V button on the remote control unit. 4 Press TV/VCR button so that "VCR" appears on the display. TVNCR I CP SP P- To preset channel memory again 1. Turn on the VCR and the TV. 2. Set the TV channel to the same video output channel located on the back of the VCR. 3. Press TVNCR button so that "VCR" appears on the display. 4. Press PRESET button on the remote control. 5. If you subscribe to cable TV, press TVNCR button so that "CATV" appears on the display. 6. Press CHANNEL A or V button once. After scan- ning, the tuner stops on the lowest memorized channel. - 14- EN
