Optional Devices Memory expansion You can install additional memory in the computer's memory module socket to increase the amount of RAM. This section describes how to install and remove a memory module. Use only memory modules approved by TOSHIBA. Do not try to install or remove a memory module under the following conditions. You can damage the computer and the module. Also, data will be lost. The computer is turned on. The computer was shut down using the Stand by mode or Hibernation mode. Wake-up on LAN is enabled. Some memory modules can be physically installed but are not compatible with the computer. In this case the computer will issue a warning. A beep will sound when you turn on the power. If the module is installed in slot A, there will be a long beep followed by a short beep. If the module is in slot B, there will be a long beep followed by two short beeps. If the memory module is 1 GB or more, there will be a long beep followed by four short beeps. In the case, shut down the power and remove the incompatible module. Use a 0-bit, Phillips screwdriver to remove and fasten the screws. Use of an incorrect screwdriver can damage the screw heads. Satellite Pro A10 Series 8-4
